An IT project for a government body, a federation or a large institution is fundamentally different from an ordinary office network. The core requirements are: no downtime, an enterprise Wi-Fi deployment that covers a wide area, strict segmentation that keeps user groups apart, centralized management, and the ability to scale to hundreds of devices. At ONYX we meet these requirements with concrete equipment and configuration — not with theory, but with real projects.
A real example: the Cüdo Federation
ONYX's primary public-sector reference is the full network infrastructure we built for the Cüdo (Judo) Federation. This is not a small local network — it is institutional infrastructure built on clustering and high availability across a wide area.
120 access points
A large Wi-Fi network covering the entire building and training halls: 120 Huawei access points under unified management.
53 switches
45 L2 and 8 L3 Huawei switches — a fully structured network from the user layer up to core routing.
4 firewalls, clustering and HA
4 Huawei firewalls — 2 security and 2 internal edge. Thanks to clustering and high availability, the network keeps running even if one device fails.
VLANs, VPN and provisioning
VLANs that separate user groups, VPN for secure remote access, and full provisioning of every user.
Why these requirements matter
High availability (HA)
In a government body, a network outage means a service outage. That is why the firewalls in the Cüdo project are deployed as a cluster: when one node fails, the second immediately takes over the load. The same principle is applied at the switching and routing layer.
Large-scale Wi-Fi and segmentation
Managing 120 access points is not just about deploying many devices — it requires control from a single controller, consistent coverage and isolation between groups. VLANs separate management, staff and guest traffic, so a problem in one segment does not spill into another.
Experience at large public scale
ONYX's CTO led the passive infrastructure (SCS) for COP29 — the UN Climate Conference (Baku, 2024). That is real, hands-on experience with structured cabling systems at large public-event scale, and it demonstrates our team's ability to manage projects of significant size.
Secure institutional infrastructure
A network is not only Wi-Fi and switches — behind it sit servers and a data-center room.
For Aselsan Azerbaijan, ONYX built a data-center room: Dell PowerEdge servers, centralized user management with Active Directory (AD), and a Checkpoint security solution. It is an example of how secure infrastructure is built at a defense and industrial level. ONYX is not just an equipment supplier — we provide turnkey deployment and ongoing support. The vendors are real and proven: Huawei, Dell, Checkpoint, Cisco, Fortinet, Microsoft (our partners).
What ONYX delivers
- Design and supply: selection and procurement of network, server and security equipment.
- Deployment and configuration: VLANs, VPN, clustering, HA and full user provisioning.
- Centralized management: hundreds of devices managed from a single point.
- Ongoing support (managed IT): keeping the network running without interruption after deployment.
